Prior to last Tuesday I hadn’t golfed in almost two years. Having a newborn took up about all my free time last summer and now that that newborn is a one-year-old, I still haven’t had a lot of free time. But ironically I’ll be golfing for the second time in just over a week today. Both times have been for work, a very cool development. It has had me fretting over what to wear, though. The heat calls for shorts, but I also feel weird showing up at a work function in shorts, even if it’s totally fine. The problem is I don’t have a pair of pants purpose-built for golf, so I have no other choice until I invest in a pair of Highland Tour Pants from Bonobos.
Bonobos takes all the great features of its washed chinos and adapts them for the fairway with its Highland Tour Pant. The pants are made from a combination of polyester and elastane for stretch and comfort on the course, so your swing isn’t inhibited in any way. They’re also coated in a water-repellent finish just in case you find yourself in a light rain.
Other handy features are built in, like a gel waistband meant to keep your shirt tucked in and a zipper pocket and interior secure pocket for keeping your phone in place, although I prefer to leave mine in the bag. And the pockets are what Bonobos calls Scorecard Pocketing, designed to limit sweat through and keep your scorecard from getting soaked. If this whole golfing at work thing continues, part of my next paycheck is definitely going towards a pair or two of these.
