Clothing that gives back is a win-win. Not only do you end up with something you needed, you also end up helping someone else in the process. That’s always been the ethos behind (code)word, a hat brand that makes hats that represent an area code and then gives back a portion of its profits to children’s hospitals. But when Hurricanes Harvey and Irma hit, (code)word tweaked its mission slightly with the FLA & TEX hats.
Instead of using area codes, (code)word went with state abbreviations on the front for its disaster relief hats. And each hat sold benefits relief efforts by funding 21 meals at local food banks in the affected areas. Each hat is available in grey or camo, with the “code word” on the back reading “SUNSHINE” for FLA and “LONESTAR” for TEX.
If you don’t want to rep Florida or Texas, there’s a handy link on the collection page to directly donate to the food banks and there are plenty of other hats that may just represent your hometown.
