There are some great contests featuring Midwestern teams this week (No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 17 Stanford or the Iowa State–Kansas State rivalry) but we’ll be eschewing those games for some more MAC action. Bowling Green and Miami (OH) aren’t necessarily rivals but their instate conference foes battling for supremacy in the East division.
Bowling Green played Florida close in its opening game of the season and then defeated Idaho but went through a rough stretch in its next two games. It enters the game on a two game winning streak and at 1-1 in conference play. Miami has not only a strong fraternity tradition that makes it an underrated campus of dressing well, but also a strong history of launching football coaches to outstanding careers. The RedHawks have split their six games, with the three losses coming against the likes of Boise State, Cincinnati and Ohio State. There are no slouches on that out of conference schedule.
