I’d be remiss to not focus some attention on South America while the Olympics are taking place in Rio. Inspired by Brazil’s southern neighbor, La Matera’s belts get their look from the Argentine gaucho. Since it’s the Olympics, let’s go with the Pinamar Belt and its Argentine flag colors.
The Pinamar takes its name and its colors from the seaside community of Pinamar. The turquoise waters and sandy beaches are reflected on the belt and provide suitable stand ins for the Argentine colors. The woven fabric is hand-stitched onto supple vegetable tanned leather and finished with a nickel matte brass buckle. It’s a distinctive belt that will draw some interest while stay remaining formal enough for wear in most occasions. That sounds gold medal worthy.
