The name says Japanese but this bow tie almost couldn’t be more American. True, the fabric was sourced from Japan, but other than that the Japanese Patchwork Bow Tie from Mill City Fineries is all-American.
Madras? Check. Bow tie? Check. Made in the USA? Check. It’s a shame summer is a third over before I’ve got around to featuring this bow tie. Of course I’ve always been much more lenient when it comes to madras and bow ties after Labor Day. Since a madras bow tie isn’t designed to keep you cool, it’s not really out of place for at least a month or two after summer ends. And while there’s an Easter basket’s worth of colors splashed on it, the colors are actually a bit muted and won’t glaringly stand out when everyone else shifts to more neutral colors. So while this may be the bow tie for an all-American summer, it will come in handy during the rest of the year.
