The wait is over. Streaker Sports is back. It’s been a long few months awaiting the return of the vintage sporting brand and the wait was certainly worth it. The relaunch includes three distinct sections. Streaker Originals is full of the shorts and t-shirts we’ve come to love. The Vintage Vault pulls together carefully curated finds like vintage hockey gloves and chain stitch patches. The Cage is the spot to find collaborations with a select group of Makers on one-of-a-kind exclusives.
One of the first releases in The Cage sees Streaker Sports teaming up with Nashville’s Mitchell Bat Company. Mitchell has done to baseball bats what Sanborn has done to canoe paddles, turning lumber into beautifully painted bats perfect for display. The two brands have teamed up to produce a limited run of only 5 bats, dubbed the All-American.
The bat’s red, white, grey and blue color scheme is a nod to the 1934 U.S. Tour of Japan All-Americans. The team, made up of American League all stars like Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx and Babe Ruth, traveled to Japan to play a series of games in the baseball mad nation. This trip also had a diplomatic edge, hoping to ease tensions between the two countries. It’s a little known relic of baseball’s history and just the kind of team we’ve come to count on Streaker Sports for finding and immortalizing. Best act quickly if you want one of these bats adorning the wall in your own Cage, because once all 5 are gone, they’re gone for good.
