The Field Guide: The 360 Windmill of Boom

Exit 6 Starbucks Letter

The Field Guide is a new weekly feature highlighting some of the best reads and news across the internet.  Stop by every Thursday for a round up of what’s relevant that week.

The F-Word: Starbucks sends a cease-and-desist letter to Exit 6, a Missouri brewery, and it results in one of the best responses of all time.

Not Just Another Night: An excellent read on how the Indiana Pacers built this year’s best NBA team. If you’re a fan of teamwork, fundamentals and the occasional highlight reel play (i.e. you prefer college basketball to the pros), this is the team for you.

That’s the Result You’re Gonna Get: Honestly, I put some blame on Fox for seeking Richard Sherman out after the game. Not sure I would have expected anything different from one of the league’s biggest on-field trash talkers and most competitive players, particularly after a highly-emotional finish. And while the bravado isn’t really my style, there’s a whole other side to Sherman.

So Money: Grantland provides an oral history of Swingers.

The Jam: “Jaguar” by What So Not (Listen on the GLP January Playlist)
